Let’s get creative! Come join Sophia and I today to get creative making our own Kiwi bird picture for Waitangi Day. Celebrated annually in New Zealand on February 6th to commemorate the anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi back in 1840.
Representatives from The British Crown in England along with the Maori chiefs all signed the treaty in agreement together. 500 Maori chiefs in fact signed the treaty during 1840.
The first place within the Bay of Islands where the treaty was originally signed, is how the treaty got its name.
In 1954 it became a public bank holiday in New Zealand.
Lots of interesting facts which Sophia and I found fascinating to learn and develop bot our History and Geography knowledge. So come take a watch of our creative kiwi bird make. Remember to download our template so you can get creative alongside Sophia.
